Europe in My Region

We just accepted the 40th post into the competition.

We originally set a deadline of “the 40th accepted post or June 30, whichever comes first“. Personally, I wasn’t sure we’d get 40 entries … but the 40th accepted entry arrived earlier this morning, on June 30.

We’re publishing one a day, so it won’t go live until the second half of July.

What happens next?

The judges – Daniela Vincente (Editor-in-Chief,, Craig Willy (independent journalist and longstanding euroblogger) and myself – will score the 40 posts over the month of August.

In the first few days of September we’ll add in scores for each post’s traffic and social media shares.

We’ll announce the 3 Winners in the week beginning September 5.

And what happens in October?

That will give them enough time to organise their visit to Brussels for the European Week of Regions and Cities (10 – 13 October), where they’ll join the media programme as accredited journalists.

They will post from the conference, with their posts translated and republished here.

They’ll (probably!) be newcomers to the whole ‘EU conference scene’ (also known as the Brussels Bubble), so I personally hope they’ll bring a new perspective to it, and look forward to working with them on planning their programme.

More information on that should follow in September.
